Walford is a defenseman with good size, but needs to bulk up. He's not an imposing offensive presence, and that's evident in his defensive playstyle. He's got all the tools to be an NHL defenseman, but paired with his effectiveness is his overall mediocrity. He's not a bad player, absolutely not, but he seems to be a potential bottom-pairing piece, but at the same time looks like a safe bet to be at least a #6.
