PATRICK KANE - Right Winger - 30 - $10.5MM Cap Hit - UFA in 2023-2024
LAST UPDATED 7/28/19
Potentially the greatest American to ever play in the NHL, Patrick Kane has been a legitimate NHL superstar from the moment he stepped on the ice as a rookie in 2007. He has generationally great hands, and can deke out absolutely anyone. He has a lethal shot, he's a fantastic skater with great edgework, and he's one of the few wingers capable of driving play and elevating teammates like a first line center could. Kane is a point-per-game player with 100+ point upside and a winger who can hold his own defensively, although he's far from a two-way winger. His contract makes his overall value a bit more dicey, but overall Kane is easily worth his once record-breaking cap hit. He's a generationally great winger and a definite hall-of-fame player. He's 30, so he's probably hit his peak, but he's so skilled that he has a long way to go before he regresses far enough to fall out of first line status.
