PARKER WOTHERSPOON

PARKER WOTHERSPOON - Defenseman - 21  - Drafted 2015 #112 Overall

LAST UPDATED 1/29/19
Wotherspoon is the definition of a "solid" defensive prospect from the WHL. His game is incredibly well-rounded, and while he doesn't posess any high-end skills his game has so few holes that he's viable in most situations. His professional offense is decent and improving, his defense is steady and he is handling minutes of increasing difficulty, and he anticipates the game well which allows him to better keep pucks out of his own net. He's a warrior who never takes a shift off and is always willing to stick up for a teammate if the situation demands it. While his lack of elite talent limits his upside, he's a very safe prospect and does figure to have an NHL future, if it's just likely as a safe #5. While his absolute highest-end upside is as a decent #4, Wotherspoon has improved so steadily throughout his career that he's as safe of a bet as can be that he'll at least have a career on a bottom pairing.
