OSKAR LINDBLOM - Left Winger - 22 - $.925MM Cap Hit - RFA in 2020-2021
LAST UPDATED 8/20/19
After proving that he could score at the professional level in Sweden and the AHL, Lindblom finally got his shot with the big club in Philly, and didn't waste it. He earned the trust of his coaches quickly and by March was getting opportunities on the Flyers' top line, replacing Claude Giroux with Voracek and Couturier so that Giroux could help out the second line. Lindblom had a fine first full season, scoring 17 goals and 33 points. That's not overwhelming production, but it's a solid base to work from. Lindblom is a very smart player with above-average size. He's a good skater and also plays strong on the puck, two keys for creating time and space to make plays. Defensively, Lindblom is a very smart player and excels at being a pickpocket and using his size and strong defensive stick to pickpocket opponents for pucks. He hasn't been a major penalty killer thus far in his NHL career but I have no doubt he'll get there. Lindblom's isolated impact metrics are incredibly positive and only paint a very optimistic picture of his future. I think Lindblom will blossom into a well-rounded two-way top-6 winger who scores 20 goals and posts 45-55 points.
