Louis Domingue may have fizzled out as a high-workload backup/1B in Arizona, but he's proven his value in Tampa Bay. Domingue is a decently big goalie who sees the ice pretty well and has good command of the crease. He's athletic, and he squares up to pucks well. He generally checks all the boxes necessary for an NHL goalie, but he lacks any spectacular talent in any area. Instead, he'll fare just as well as the defense in front of him allows him to perform. On a strong team like Tampa, he can be an average backup who's accustomed to a higher workload, but on a weaker team he can struggle and post negative GSAA numbers, as he did on Arizona. He's a decent backup who's dependent on his team giving him support and insulating him, making him a fine, if unimpressive #2 goalie.
