LINUS ARNESSON - Defenseman - 24 - Drafted 2013 #60 Overall
LAST UPDATED 2/6/19
When the Bruins selected Arnesson in the late 2nd round of the 2013 Draft, they were hoping the smooth skating, two-way defenseman could become a top-4 level player once his development reached its peak. Unfortunately, Arnesson never panned out, and struggled to produce in the AHL before electing to return to his native Sweden at the conclusion of the 2016-2017 season. While he showed some flashes in the AHL during his career, shoulder injuries and an Achilles tendon injury ultimately hampered his development. Upon announcing his return to Sweden, the Bruins extended Arnesson a qualifying offer, meaning that they maintain their hold on his NHL rights, so the team could have hope that Arnesson returns to America. Unfortunately, Arnesson seems set to remain in Sweden for the foreseeable future, and if he does ever come back, he'll likely be nothing more than organizational depth for the Bruins.
