KYLE CONNOR - Left Winger - 22 - RFA in 2019-2020
LAST UPDATED 9/1/19
Kyle Connor has had quite the first two seasons in the NHL. He had a strong rookie campaign, scoring 31 goals and 57 points, and followed that season up by scoring 34 goals and 66 points. He looks like a legitimate top-line sniper and has true elite forward potential going forward. Connor's best tool, bar none, is his shot. He can score 30 goals with ease and his shot has the blend of velocity, accuracy, and versatility elite NHL scorers need. Connor gets into position to score himself, leveraging his above-average skating with incredible burst to be able to blow past defenders and drive to scoring position. His combination of speed and lethal shooting ability makes him the perfect triggerman for a playmaking center, and while he doesn't drive offensive play like a Taylor Hall-style offensive dynamo, he can fit with many playmakers and does his best to get into scoring position himself. Defensively Connor is still improving, but his speed and intelligence gives him distinct upside there. I just believe that his aggressiveness and offensive focus will keep him from being a true two-way winger, but that's fine because he scores so much. As long as he can continue to sustain mid-teens shooting percentages, Kyle Connor will consistently be in the conversation for the Jets' most skilled offensive player. A true first line sniper.
