After a four-year tenure at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the Bruins signed Kuhlman to a two-year entry-level deal. While Kuhlman isn’t a flashy prospect, and is nearing 23 years of age, the Bruins feel he can be a future member of their bottom-6. Kuhlman’s skill set is perfect for a fourth line two-way forward, as he blends NHL level speed and skating with solid awareness on both ends of the ice. Kuhlman’s two-way ability and skating makes has made him an excellent special teams performer both on the powerplay and penalty kill, and his great discipline further increases his value. Despite his low ceiling, Kuhlman is a valuable future depth forward for the Bruins, and could maybe even see some time with the Bruins down the stretch in 2019.
