A fan favorite in Edmonton, Khaira has carved himself a nice niche in the Oilers' lineup. Never a top-flight scorer, Khaira instead uses his physicality, size, and versatility to stick at the NHL level. He lacks the speed, puck skills, or instincts to be anything more than a ~25 point scorer. He's decent in front of the net, but offensively his value is limited to his ability to restore possession of the puck by winning board battles. Due to his lack of offensive skill and physical gifts, Khaira is more of a defensive player, and isolated impact metrics indicate that. Given his physicality, size, and decent defensive track record, Khaira is a decent 4C at the NHL level with great penalty-killing value.
