JOSH ARCHIBALD - Right Winger - 26 - $1MM Cap Hit - UFA in 2020-2021
LAST UPDATED 7/23/19
Archibald, a survivor of an early career ECHL demotion, seems to have finally settled in as a legitimate NHL player. He had his best season to date taking advantage of an Arizona team ravaged by injuries, and showed himself to be a capable depth piece, scoring 22 points with 12 goals. He's a hard-nosed forward, and has been known to get the most out of his limited ice time. He's a relentless worker, and is willing to do whatever it takes to give his team an edge. He's not a high-end skill player, but his grit, energy, and penalty killing ability should give him value in a bottom-6. He lacks the size of an elite shutdown physical player, but his stickwork, positioning, and incredible motor makes him a very valuable presence on the penalty kill. Going forward, Archibald is a valuable bottom-6 sparkplug penalty killer.
