JORDAN OESTERLE - Defenseman - 27 - $1.4MM Cap Hit - UFA in 2021-2022
LAST UPDATED 7/25/19
Since coming over from Chicago in the Marian Hossa trade, Oesterle has established himself as a legitimate NHL defenseman. Oesterle is a puck moving defenseman at heart, and is at his best with the puck on his stick pushing through the neutral zone. He's not a skill player, and can't QB a power play or be relied on for elite production out of the back end, but he can chip in thanks to his abilities in transition and can be expected to produce ~20 points per season. Defensively, Oesterle plays a very reliable game but is not someone who can handle high-pressure assignments. He's best when he's left unnoticed in his own end, and he can easily handle bottom-pairing minutes. He's a solid #5 defenseman with good puck moving abilities.
