JORDAN EBERLE - Right Winger - 29 - $5.5MM Cap Hit - UFA in 2024-2025
LAST UPDATED 12/17/18
As a former top prospect, Eberle showcased his goal-scoring touch, along with his inconsistency, during his up-and-down tenure in Edmonton. After being shipped to the Islanders in a trade for Ryan Strome, Eberle found chemistry with Mathew Barzal and had his best season since 2014-15. Despite slowing down since being moved away from Barzal, Eberle has retained his goal-scoring ability, and is generally good for 25-30 goals per year with upside for more. His defensive play is not exceptionally strong, nor is his physical play, but his strong shot and offensive abilities make up for such shortcomings. As of right now, he's cemented himself as a top-6 sniper, albeit not an elite one. One thing to keep an eye out for with Eberle is his sneakily underrated puck moving abilities that the analytics community is just now starting to get a grasp on. Whether or not that will turn into goals and points depends on various uncontrollable factors.
