JESSE GABRIELLE - Left Winger - 21 - Drafted 2015 #105 Overall
LAST UPDATED 2/13/19
The Bruins' 4th round choice in 2015, Gabrielle is an interesting, bottom-6 potential forward for Boston. After being a hyped prospect heading into his junior career, Gabrielle had a solid but unspectacular tenure in the WHL, leading to a large drop in his draft stock. A power forward winger who plays a hard-nosed, gritty game and provides much of his offense by crashing the net, Gabrielle bounced between Junior and the AHL for three seasons from 2015-2018, before being sent to Atlanta of the ECHL after he exhausted his junior rights and turned 21. While his stats in the ECHL have been decent, his questionable defense has raised some concerns for his development. While he first seemed like a safe, bottom-6 potential draft choice, Gabrielle isn't even a sure thing as an AHL bottom-6 forward. Furthermore, Gabrielle is a depth prospect in a Bruins system filled with depth prospects, greatly decreasing his odds of making the NHL. While he still has upside as a 4th-line pest, it's likely he carves a career as a ECHL-AHL tweener.
