JARRET TYSZKA - Defenseman - 19 - Drafted 2017 #149 Overall
LAST UPDATED 12/15/18
Tyszka is a two-way defenseman who showed improvement in his post-draft season. A bad memorial cup tournament dropped him down to the middle rounds of the draft, but that doesn't change who he is as a player. He's an energetic defenseman with a high compete level. He's not a great skater, but a very functional one, who sacrifices some of the flashiness other skaters have so that he can move the puck and play in his own end competently. He has a lack of creativity in his game that is a result of his reliance of functionality, and coupled with his lack of instincts and somewhat poor hockey sense, Tyszka seems to be more of a potential bottom-pairing defenseman than a top-4 prospect.
