In the conversation for the best goalie in the 2018 draft, Skarek's professional track record and subperb instincts are his greatest strengths as a goalie. He's performed well in his first season in SM-Liiga as a teenager, and if he can establish himself as a viable starting goalie in Finland's top men's league, he'll become one of the better goalie prospects. Obviously, at 18, Skarek has a long way to go before he's an NHL consideration, (maybe a half-decade, at least) so he's far from a likely NHL player, but nothing to this point has suggested that he'll bust and stay in Europe. He just needs to continue to get minutes and save 91-92% of his shots. If he can do that, he can be a legitimate NHL goalie for the Isles.
