JAKE DEBRUSK - Left Winger - 22 - $.863MM Cap Hit - RFA in 2020-2021
LAST UPDATED 1/30/19
The middle of the Bruins' 3 consecutive 1st round picks in Don Sweeney’s maiden NHL Draft (2015), DeBrusk so far looks like a solid young asset. After spending an additional season in junior and a season with AHL Providence, DeBrusk earned a spot in the Bruin’s top-6 out of training camp in 2017. While his rookie season wasn’t amazing, DeBrusk remained consistent throughout the year while showing great chemistry with center David Krejci. A solid puck handler with above average skating, a good shot, and physicality from time to time, DeBrusk figures to remain in the Bruin’s top-6 for a long time. However, there isn’t one asset of his game that really stands out, which might limit him to the role of a solid 2nd liner for the rest of his career. Still, DeBrusk is a safe bet to have at least 25+20 upside, with more depending on who he plays with.
