Verbeek is an undrafted prospect who struggled to score in junior, only nearing a PPG season in his overage year on a stacked Soo Greyhounds team. Verbeek skates hard and has a good work ethic, but his sub-par production does not help his future potential. He could end up as a bottom-6 guy given his hard-working playstyle, but that's the extent of his upside and being sent down to ECHL as a 21 year old from one of the worst AHL teams does not brighten his upside. He's a long shot.
