FILIP CHYTIL - Center - 19 - $.894MM Cap Hit - RFA in 2021-22
LAST UPDATED 3/7/19
Filip Chytil, the 2nd of the Rangers' two first round picks in the 2017 draft, has been a quick developer for the Rangers but has yet to fully realize his offensive potential at the game's highest level. He's plays a disciplined two-way game, which is what allows him to be in the NHL regularly at such a young age, but he's not enough of a shut-down force to be trusted with incredibly tough matchups or 1st unit penalty-killing duties. He's also a liability at the dot, winning only 34% of his draws this season. Going forward, Chytil will need to refine his offensive tools if he wants to become a top-6 center, but at this point he's still an NHL quality, albeit bottom-6 level two-way winger.
