DOMINIK KAHUN - Center - 24 - $.925MM Cap Hit - RFA in 2020-2021
LAST UPDATED 7/25/19
Dominik Kahun, an offensive star in the DEL, used his track record of scoring in a high-end men's league in Germany to make a quick adjustment to the NHL. He had a good rookie season, and garnered some stray Calder and Byng votes. He's got above-average skill, and can skate well. He's a responsible player and can hold his own defensively. He's got decent playmaking instincts and can surprise you with a brilliant game or two. His lack of any elite offensive trait likely means that he won't be a top-flight offensive producer, but if he can find a way to stick with Crosby and Guentzel on Pittsburgh's first line he could really break out. If not, he'll just be a good well-rounded third liner, and at a cap hit of less than $1MM, that's good value.
