DAVID QUENNEVILLE - Defenseman - 20 - Drafted 2016 #200 Overall
LAST UPDATED 1/22/19
Despite only standing at 5-foot-8, Quenneville flashed immense potential in WHL Medicine Hat. He was able to overcome his immense size disadvantage to become a high-end offensive producer for the team. Unfortunately, given a difficult injury he suffered and his weak defensive play due to his lack of size and strength, Quenneville failed to translate his good CHL play to the professional level, and has since found himself playing in the ECHL. Despite his once-high upside, most prospects who don't even stick in the AHL during their first professional season are long shots to be NHL players, and given Quenneville's already present size disadvantage, Quenneville does not look like a legitimate NHL prospect at this point. The scoring upside still remains, and he's only 20, but spending a season in the ECHL is a damning indictment of his poor stock as a prospect.
