David Kampf is a decent defensive center. He's big, versatile, and smart. He's physical enough to win battles with a decent degree of consistency and can be an asset on the right penalty kill. He's not offensively skilled, and lacks the puck skills to be an impact player on that end of the ice, but that's not his role. He's a big defensive centerman with the grit, tenacity, energy, and physical ability you want on your fourth line. He'll never be a star, but he's a fine 4C and should help Chicago over the course of his two year extension. A decent 4C.
