As a relatively highly-drafted goalie prospect, Gibson has somewhat failed to live up to expectations. Despite posting decent numbers throughout his minor league career, he hasn't broken into the NHL as many would have expected, despite NYI's lack of consistent starting goaltending. At this point, despite being decently athletic and possessing good instincts, he doesn't look to have more than backup-level upside at this point. But he's a goalie, so like always, we never really know.
