CHARLES HUDON - Left Winger - 25 - $.800MM Cap Hit - RFA in 2020-2021
LAST UPDATED 12/6/18
Despite producing well at the AHL level (27G, 49pts, 56GP in 2016-17) Hudon has struggled to translate that success at hockey's top level. A natural playmaker, Hudon possesses decent vision and instincts, but most of his other skills are unimpressive. He's not a physical player, nor is he exceptional defensively, meaning he is not well-suited for a bottom-6 defensive role. His skating has also become an issue, as his lack of top-end speed and poor edge-work have not helped his playmaking. He's still only 24, his upside has dulled and if he cannot manage to find some consistent offensive production he is most likely destined for a career as a premier AHL scorer.
