CAMERON CLARKE - Defenseman - 22 - Drafted 2016 #136 Overall
LAST UPDATED 2/6/19
The 136th overall selection in 2016, Clarke is an offensive defenseman who was tough to read heading into the draft given that he had been playing with the Lone Star Brahmas of the NAHL, not exactly a place where you’d expect an NHL prospect to develop. Clarke has since been playing with the Ferris State University Bulldogs in the NCAA, where he’s posted decent numbers but hasn’t been the offensive force he was in the NAHL. Clarke’s wiry frame and skating could still use some development before he goes to pro hockey, and at this point his offensive development has stalled enough where the Bruins are going to need to seriously consider whether they want to sign him. If he does eventually sign with Boston, don’t look for him to provide anything but minor league depth unless his play seriously advances.
