ARNAUD DURANDEAU - Left Winger - 19 - Drafted 2017 #165 Overall
LAST UPDATED 1/16/19
Durandeau is a fan favorite in Halifax for his pesky style of play and (uncommon) flashes of offensive skill. He has steadily increased his offensive production each of his years in the QMJHL (as most prospects tend to do) and he has steadily improved his core attributes since his draft season. Durandeau's biggest weakness is his skating, and despite having desirable traits as an agitator who energizes the team, his skating needs to improve heavily for him to have any legitimate NHL future. As a 6th round pick, the odds are against him, but if he can markedly improve his skating to the point where the NHL becomes a true possibility for him, Durandeau could become the same bottom-6 energy player Halifax has in him. That's a big if, though, but the positives in his game are enough to make him worthy enough for a professional contract from the Islanders so they can continue to track his development.
