ANDERS LEE - Left Winger - 28 - $7MM Cap Hit - UFA in 2026-2027
LAST UPDATED 12/30/18
As Isles' newest captain, Lee practically lives in front of his opponent's net. He's the definition of a screener/power forward, and he's excellent at deflecting shots from the point and burying chances for "garbage goals." He's not one to shy away from a physical engagement, and while he's not a "goon" he's definitely scrappy. He's not a shutdown player defensively, so don't expect much penalty-killing value from him. He's also not an incredible playmaker, and he relies on having good setup men to give him chances to bury, as he's not likely to create them himself. Since the departure of John Tavares, Lee has settled into scoring at a 30 goal, rather than 40 goal pace, and while that's not as desirable, he still provides the same value in front of the net on even strength and on a power play. He's a legitimate top-line power forward, and given his expiring contract status, he stands to be paid as such.
