ALAN QUINE - Center - 26 - $.735MM Cap Hit - UFA in 2020-2021
LAST UPDATED 7/25/19
After being shoehorned into many an NY Islanders lineup that he was not ready for, Quine seems to have found his niche as a AAAA scorer in the Flames' system. He had a brilliant AHL season, scoring 52 points in only 41 games, and provided good depth energy and skill at the NHL level, scoring a very solid 5 points in 13 games averaging less than 10 minutes of ice time per night. He's a good skater, an elite one at the AHL level, and that skating allows him to post incredible numbers in the AHL and also provide energy in a sheltered role in the AHL. I can see him having a career a lot like Peter Holland, an elite 1C at the AHL level helping prospects in that league develop, as well as a below-average offense-focused 4C on rebuilding teams. There's value in those types of players, and as long as teams don't ask for much more from Quine like the Islanders did, he should be a valuable member of their organization.
